After marching with hundreds of local community members to advocate for climate action, you will hear impassioned speeches from local students and politicians alike. Then, learn how you can get involved in sustained climate action with local climate organizations, while we enjoy complementary food and live music. People of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to participate, because now’s the time for collaborative efforts. Now’s the time for healthier, safer, better-educated, and stronger communities. Now’s the time for youth-led climate action.

PASCC-Sci’s 4th edition: Colossal Biosciences’ recent de-extinction breakthroughs — their creation of species genetically resembling (but not replicating) extinct ones — has left many asking: how does gene-editing work? From surrogate incompatibility and baby death, to ecosystem disruption and the misplacement of priorities, de-extinction efforts certainly have their drawbacks; but nevertheless, this technology opens the door to a future in which ecosystem stability is possible. With funding dedicated toward de-extinction efforts now growing, it is more important than ever that avenues toward ecological justice are properly navigated – only with attentive research and input from scientists around the world will gene-editing strike a balance with conservation and habitat stability.
