WHAT IS S/CAP?
S/CAP, Palo Alto's Sustainability and Climate Action Plan, was first introduced in 2014.
The main goal of S/CAP is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 80 percent below 1990 levels by 2030. S/CAP also focuses on climate resilience, ecosystemic preservation and much more.
We, as PASCC, will mainly be looking at carbon emissions. In the grand scheme of climate change, Palo Alto’s carbon emissions are going to have a longer-term impact compared to the other, qualitative goals of S/CAP.
